Advancements in Zero-Energy Buildings, Sustainable Cities, and Solar Thermal Solutions for a Green Future

Modern grids must adopt the advancements in zero-energy buildings, sustainable cities and solar thermal energy, which are expected to replace the traditional electrical grid. Current research in these areas focuses on enhancing the efficiency, reliability, economics and sustainability of power generation, transmission and distribution systems. At the same time, studies addressing the challenges related to the integration of solar thermal energy, energy management in buildings and cities, demand distribution, load automation and control, and the commercial implementation of these sustainable technologies, are emerging. This special issue will explore the requirements, challenges, and latest innovations in zero-energy buildings, sustainable cities and enhancements in solar thermal energy.
Extended versions of selected papers will be publishable in Energy and Built Environment (Elsevier). The topics covered are:
  • Advancement in Zero Energy Buildings and Sustainable Cities infrastructures and renewables integration.
  • Energy distribution and management improvement in Zero Energy Buildings and Sustainable Cities.
  • Integration of solar thermal systems for enhanced energy efficiency and sustainability.
